Watercolor and Collage
The support is a built plywood box with watercolor paper glued over the top. Everything is archival.
Another intuitive piece! While glueing the paper to the box, I loved the flowing quality of the folds in the paper, so I left it, and it sent the piece in an entirely different direction. The design is based on a quilt pattern, with half of the images being aerial photos of my family lake cabin, and the other half being my more personal paintings of that same place. This is one of my more experimental pieces and I love it because it still incorporates my roots of traditional landscape painting in watercolor.
