A boat on shore feels like an invitation; the dramatic perspective of the foreshortened vessel pulls my gaze to the lake, and the sight draws my imagination into a daydream of paddling, fishing, and soaking in a quiet moment on the still water, with each drop of water echoing concentric ripples. But alas, it is November and the lake is frozen, raincheck it is.
